An interesting weekend 05-07-17

I've been looking for an opportunity to photograph eagles for some time now, and since the great egrets, snowy egrets and heron I normally photograph have been scarce lately, I decided to jump on the bandwagon in Milpitas and try my luck with the pair of eagles nesting there.

I haven't completely given up on egrets and heron, but all I was able to find at the MLK Regional Shoreline Center this weekend was one mallard duck, a few Forster's terns and the usual cast of Canadian geese.

Successful photographers don't blame their subjects -- or lack thereof -- they work with what they have to create the most compelling images possible.  I waited around and was lucky enough to capture a nice shot of a Mallard drake making a landing on the ocean.
